Whether you've been to the U.S. or not, you probably have many questions that need to be answered before you start out.
We hope that the following information will answer some of more important questions you have. After reading this information if you still have questions, please contact us.

When leaving your country after the date shown on your I-20, you may have problems with U.S. immigrations.
If you contact us before you leave, we can fax or send a letter to you requesting that you be allowed to enter the U.S. after the date printed on your I-20. Show the letter requesting late entry to the Customs official when departing.
You should then be allowed to enter the U.S. If necessary, our office can also issue a new I-20 with a revised entry date.

Please bring the following items with you on the start day:

  • Passport
  • CLS I-20 & I-94 (arrival card) or other immigration documents
  • Your checkbook, travelers checks, credit card or guarantee letter from your sponsor (see handout entitled Program Expenses for more details)
  • Any identification you have (Drivers' License, USCard, Social Security card, etc.)
  • Pen and pencil
